Let me start by saying that the game looks amazing. The gameplay looks like a ton of fun, and the graphics are pretty stunning for an MMO. That being said, I still have a list of concerns regarding it’s release. Nothing that I think will stop me from trying it… but it could stop me from playing it…
1. The intention of that is to make the game not feel like a chore or something that you have to keep playing in order to keep up with everybody else.
2. While it is true that most will not be able to understand that, it won’t be an issue. Guild Wars 2 is going for a specific audience, and that’s part of the niche it’s shooting for.
3. Not an issue. They’ve already released the minimum specs and they’re quite low.
4. You always have the choice of making a new class, using different weapon sets, and utilities. That, along with all the traits being useful in their own ways, allows for way more playstyles than a lot of other MMOs.
5. This one is all on NCSoft and ANet. Not much I can say about it.
6. The combat is actually quite different. It LOOKS similar to other MMOs because of how everybody has been playing it in the videos you’re watching. It’s not about spamming your buttons the instant they come off CD. You’re supposed to be wise about when to use them, and that’s how you’ll win fights. Anybody just mindlessly blowing all their CDs will be the one that loses. (Unless the other person is just as awful..)
I wouldn’t worry too much about GW2. It’s going to be just fine.
Quick question! Why is Nicki Minaj so damn popular? She makes absolute shit for music.
Case-in-point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6j4f8cHBIM&ob=av3e
Why is she popular? I don’t understand it. She “raps” like this in EVERY single song she does. She doesn’t do anything. She just talks and randomly goes into a retarded freak voice, or a “I’M SO KAWAII UGUU” voice. What is it that people like about her?
THIS is a female rapper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPoKiGQzbSQ

Guild Wars 2 will be coming this year and it seems almost everybody have high hopes for it. Actually, I couldn’t even find a single post all over the internet saying Guild Wars 2 may not suit your tastes. So as a veteran Guild Wars player, I will try to explain some concepts which you may not…
1. Soo.. hitting the level cap within a week because you grinded your hardest to reach it is a bad thing? Besides, in GW2 the level cap isn’t important as you can will be doing basically the same thing even when you are level 80. So who cares how fast you hit 80?
2. What’s wrong with gear and weapons not having stat differences? You need to make your epeen bigger and harder by doing 17 more DPS every week, even though it would be exactly the same as not doing 17 more DPS if they didn’t input higher numbers for health on bosses? Oh noes.
3. 10 skills in GW2, first of all. Secondly, there isn’t nearly as much customization because you won’t be able to choose the skills attached to weapons. They are preset and that’s to BALANCE the PvP. You seem to have gotten the opposite impression.
4. No healers is bad? You worry about Guardians and Warriors because they take less damage? They’ve already said that they are striving for a balance in the PvP, and it’s all about your skills. If you can’t take out another player, it’s on you. Sorry. In regards to no healing, they’ve replaced Healers with Supporting roles. Play as any class you want, pick up weapons/elites based on support. GG.
5. Content problems.. What? It’s a free-to-play MMO. They come out with small patches here and there, but the big content updates are in EXPANSIONS. That’s how they can keep the game running for the most part, aside from the in-game cash shop feature. If you’re not going to count expansions, they’ve still been releasing some pretty important updates that lead from GW to GW2. The War In Kryta, Hearts of the North, and Winds of Change updates aren’t big enough for free content? Uh.. kay.
6. Lag issues? You’re worried about that? 2012 and worried about lag issues.. wow. I’m sure the developers are fully aware of what they are doing in regards to this. It’s not like they come up with concepts and don’t test them, you know. Unless you’re on some bad internet, I don’t think this is anything to worry about.
Also, uh.. why would you run a 4-Elementalist PvP team? Not that it matters, because ALL classes have at least one initiator and one finisher. So even if you DID have a team of all Elementalists, you could still pull something out with one another.
No offense, but it just seems like the things you are pointing out are almost completely incorrect. Just do a tad bit more research and you’ll be fine.
